What's in the Shop
This page will be my attempt at showing what is in
for repair or restoration. I will also write down
some of the problems we come across and what
we did to fix the problem. Hopefully it is amusing
and maybe a little informative. Enjoy.
May 28, 2006:
Here we have a 1962 World Series pitch in bat
by Williams. It is in rough shape but we are
going to restore it over the summer.

May 29, 2006:
Today I took the oak trim piece's from the head off.
Sanded the old stain off and re-applied some new stain.
Also got the schematics in, so I started going through
and cleaning the switches and steppers. This is a long
process. The machine is dead as of now but will be back
to life shortly.

June 3, 2006:
Sanded all the red trim and instruction holder, primed
and repainted. Also continued working on score motor
and relays. Have them all cleaned, adjusted and check
continuity on them.

July 1, 2006: Denny came over for the day and we great
progress on the game. It is working about 90% now. Just
need to fabricate some new ball returns for underneath
and install the batting mechanism assembly. Will repaint
cabinet once I have it working 100%.

July 15, 2006:
Today I received my Slick Chick pinball and a Williams Pinch Hitter
baseball game. Going to restore both games. I will have
more pictures up soon.
Aug. 2, 2006:
Have a Williams Dirty Harry in for repair. Nice shape game but has some
problems. Had to rebuild the flippers. Previous repair guy stacked an
extra spring on the plunger to make it return easier. If flipper would of
been aligned properly this would not have to be done.
The upper flipper had a busted playfield bushing. If this
is left unattended it can cause a wear mark on the
playfield. Another problem was on the gun assembly. It
would roll the ball out as soon as it drop into it. There
was a raised lip due to the ball dropping in to it. I removed it by
grinding smooth with the dremel tool. Works great now.
The game also had a few bad opto switches. All good to
go now. Need to clean the game and go through the
lights under the playfield. Also need a new flipper
             paddle. Should be ready soon.
